Keira Knightley
Born in London to actor Will Knightley and Sharman Macdonald, Knightley obtained an agent at age six and initially performed in commercials and TV films. There was a brief role as Sabe in the space-opera Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace (1999). Her breakthrough came in the role of a teenage football player in the sports documentary Bend It Like Beckham (2002) which went on to achieve worldwide fame as Elizabeth Swann in the swashbuckler fantasy series Pirates of the Caribbean, beginning in 2003. In 2003, she starred as a romantic in Love Actually and was called a promising young woman. Knightley received an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress in the role of Elizabeth Bennet in Pride & Prejudice (2005). In addition to Atonement, she also starred in the role of Georgiana Cavendish who was the popular tastemaker for The Duchess and Anna Karenina's character in the title socialite. In addition, she branched out into modern dramatics. Begin Again, (2013) was a role for her as an aspiring singer and Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit, (2014) saw her being a medical student. Knightley came back to historical films with The Imitation Game in 2014 in which she received an nomination to win an Academy Award as Best Supporting Actress.
